PLI is your exclusive source for vertical marine
portable tanks. Our tanks provide unique advantages over conventional
marine portable tanks we save space, have an enhanced discharge
capability and offer superior mixing ability over our competition.
PLI is proud of our unique USCG approved vertical Marine Portable
Tanks. These tanks have superior capabilities for transporting,
mixing, and storing all types of drilling and completion fluids
which make it distinct from other MPT tanks now in use.
The primary distinction is the vertical position
of the design. This position not only enables our tanks to save
valuable space on a drilling rig, platform, and cargo vessel;
but also to have better discharge abilities and better mixing
ability. Further, the 25 BBL tanks are designed to be safely stacked
and can be cleaned economically.
Our 25 BBL tank has a 6 1/2 x 6 1/2
skid, which reduces the amount of deck space used from 64 square
feet to 42.25 square feet when compared to most horizontal 1000
gallon MPT tanks. Discharge capability is enhanced with our unique
cut on the 3" discharge. We have created a maximum square
area of discharge at our lower tank head. The 3" discharge
is cut on a 20 degree angle with a tank opening of 18" x
3" at the bottom of the tank head. This reduces any compacting
of settlement which forms in the tank discharge. The discharge
is designed to reduce any curves or 90 degree elbows, eliminating
problems associated with other MPT tanks. The vertical tank is
designed for a full vacuum with the minimum shell thickness of
1/4" of material and will not collapse should the tank be
emptied without proper ventilation. The valves on the discharge
and jet lines consist of Teflon seated brass ball valves which
are not standard on most tanks today.
Superior mixing ability is another factor setting
our tanks apart from ordinary MPT tanks. We know of no other USCG
MPT tank with the ability to jet and mix its contents. We have
installed a precision jet line with a bull horn effect to create
two opposing swirls of fluid in the tank. This opposing fluid
force will prevent the whirlpool effect and will enhance the agitation.
Furthermore, we have applied an additional flange and pinion to
install a lightning mixer with propeller drive to boost the agitation
if needed. The combination of the bull horn jets and the lightning
propeller mixer gives our vertical USCG MPT tanks the superior
edge on other comparable tanks in operation today.
